Breyer Lexington Racehorse Ornament
Description
Description
Foaled in 1850 near present-day Lexington, Kentucky, the aptly-named Lexington was one of the more influential Thoroughbred racehorse sires of his time. He won 6 of his 7 races and earned $56,600 (more than $2 million in today's money) on the track. After surviving the Civil War through clever moves and hideouts, he would persevere to become one of the sport's great sires. Over 150 years later, many of racing's current stars can still trace their heritage back to this Kentucky legend.
