The Ideal Series pays homage to the stunning artwork of renowned equine artist Orren Mixer (1920-2008) and his most popular subjects – horses! Each hand-painted piece in this series was inspired by one of Mixer’s famed “ideal” horse breed paintings. The painting “Pinto” was commissioned by the PtHA from Mixer in the year 2000 and showcases the variety of breed types and disciplines pinto horses can be found in. This model horse takes inspiration from the stately bay pinto American Saddlebred found on the right hand side of the painting.
